Horner wildflowersExperience the beauty of early spring wildflowers on hikes guided by faculty and students from the UofL Biology Department at the Horner Sanctuary in Crestwood.

April is the time for brilliant spring ephemeral wildflowers.

Participants will also meet faculty from Anthropology, Archeology and Geography.

All ages are welcome and there is no charge to participate.

Registration required (30 person max.)

Cost: Free

Please note: Conditions are rugged. Proper attire is required.

Weather Notice: If heavy rain is expected, the walk will be canceled. Participants who register will be notified by email by Friday, April 3, at 9 p.m., regarding cancelation.

Parking & Access: Parking at the Horner site is very limited and carpooling is strongly encouraged. Vehicles parking onsite will need to traverse a gravel road. Vehicles with low clearance may prefer the alternative parking location listed below.

Navigation Address: When traveling to Horner, please set your GPS to Sugar Babe Antiques & Collectibles (7511 KY-329, Crestwood, KY 40014). This address reliably directs drivers to the correct turn toward the site.

Direction from Sugar Babe Antiques: Turn left to Old Zaring Road and continue straight. Proceed to the gate that requires a code. A UofL staff member will be available to let you in.
