Interview: UofL Brown Fellow, Nora Alshimary, on Passenger Rail

It’s ALL ABOARD! this week on Sustainability Now!, as your host, Justin Mog, takes a long trip across the nation on passenger rail with Nora Alshimary, a Louisville native and Senior Brown Fellow at UofL majoring in Computer Information Systems. Listen in and learn about Nora’s 2021 summer enrichment project called "Decades Behind: The Future of Passenger Rail in the US" in which she traveled by passenger rail to and through five major cities in the US - Chicago, New York, Washington DC, Seattle, and San Francisco - and surveyed their transit systems and met with various directors, advocacy group members and legislatures to further understand what it takes to run these transit systems, the political and physical infrastructure that is needed to support extending them, and the possibility of expanding and improving our national passenger rail and high-speed rail system.
