TARC adds new all-electric buses to Route 4 (4th Street)

Want to get downtown or down to Iroquois Park with no money or tailpipe pollution?! Well now you can!
TARC adds new all-electric buses to Route 4 (4th Street)

TARC's new all-electric buses rolled out of the garage to start service on Route 4 in August 2016.

In August 2016, the Transit Authority of River City (TARC) added six new all-electric buses to Route 4, serving Belknap campus.

Like every TARC bus, the new fleet costs those with UofL ID nothing to ride (just show the driver your valid ID). But these sleek, modern electric buses also cost a lot less for our air quality - eliminating the particulates & pollutants from the old diesel fleet.

The new fleet also features bike racks that can hold up to three bikes at once (the old buses only held two)!

Catch one of the new buses along 4th Street every 15 minutes from 4:30am to 1am daily (service starts a little later on weekends/holidays).
