“Her job title doesn’t sound very important to the functioning of the university,” her nomination letter said, “but without (Cathy) and her outstanding performance, the environment and the university community would be a significant risk.” Cathy manages chemical waste from more than 800 labs and some Physical Plant operations. She also has worked to make UofL more environmentally friendly by developing recycling and waste minimization programs that manage wastes that fall below regulatory scrutiny but adversely impact the environment.
