The University of Louisville, in coordination with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and Louisville Metro, and with financial assistance from the Federal Highway Administration, is designing a project that would improve vehicular safety and traffic operations and improve pedestrian and cyclist safety and connectivity on the northwest side of Belknap Campus, primarily along 3rd Street (and the connector to 2nd Street) from Eastern Parkway to W. Cardinal Boulevard.
The current road design is a four-lane highway that encourages speeding and offers no accommodations for bicyclists, transit users, or pedestrians wishing to cross this busy road.
A public meeting about the project will take place Thursday, May 9, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at the Student Activities Center, room W118.
See the project website for details and to ask questions.
