Farmworkers are the root of our supply chain and ensure our food's availability, quality, and safety.
Even though they were recognized as essential during the pandemic, 2.6 million farm workers in the United States remain federally excluded from most labor laws, such as the right to unionize and to receive overtime pay, and remain among the poorest workers in the country.
Join us to learn about the risks farm workers face, their organizations, and their efforts to obtain a living wage and a safe, respectful workplace.
Our guest speaker will be Felix Garza from the National Farm Worker Ministry.
This event is brought to you by the Department of Anthropology, Latin American and Latino Studies, and the Anne Braden Institute.
