Sophia Anner wins 2025 Ecolympics Grand Prize with 74 sustainable actions!
For eight weeks from February 2nd to March 29th, UofL students, faculty, and staff engaged in another year of friendly competition during Ecolympics 2025 to see who could take the most action to advance sustainability!
We had an incredible 143 very diverse green actions submitted from across the university community, but as we all crossed the finish line together on March 29th, there was one Ecolympian who clearly rose to the top!
The UofL Sustainability Council extends our warmest congratulations to Biology GTA Sophia Anner for taking an amazing 74 different green actions and thus being named the Grand Prize winner of Ecolympics 2025! She won this year's Grand Prize bicycle and helmet!
Sophia shared everything from carpooling to campus, to asking for mugs without lids at coffee shops, to saving cardboard boxes for cat enrichment before recycling them. Be like Sophia. Take action for sustainability at home or at work, share it, inspire your colleagues, and we all will win.
We want to shout-out everyone who participated in Ecolympics this year. Thank you ALL for striving to make our planet a greener, more sustainable place. Through little choices every day, we make a difference and help influence the behavior of others!
