Park(ing) Day on Friday, Sept. 19th, is a global, public, participatory project where people across the world temporarily repurpose curbside parking spaces for one day and convert them into mini public parks and social spaces to advocate for safer, greener, and more equitable streets for people.
After participating in 2011-13, UofL and Metro government are bring Park(ing) Day back to Louisville in 2025!
On this day, participants around the city will reimagine on-street parking spaces by converting them into vibrant and engaging community places downtown along 5th Street at Jefferson & Main, 6th at Market, and 627 S 4th; as well as at UofL's Belknap Campus, where Masters of Urban Planning students from UofL's Department of Urban & Public Affairs will be re-imagining four parking spaces in the lot across from The Ville Grill.
Stop by and enjoy the space as we realize the dream of a city designed for people not cars!
Bring your bike from 5-7pm, when the UofL Sustainability Council will be providing free bike tune-ups and stickers!
