Sophomore Rose Hoff wins Ecolympics 2026 Grand Prize!

For eight weeks from February 1st to March 28th, UofL students, faculty, and staff engaged in another year of friendly competition during Ecolympics 2026 to see who could take the most action to advance sustainability!

We had an incredible participation with people sharing a wide array of green actions from across the university community, but as we all crossed the finish line together on March 28th, there was one Ecolympian who clearly rose to the top!

The UofL Sustainability Council extends our warmest congratulations to sophomore Sustainability major & Garden Intern, Rose Hoff, for being named the Grand Prize winner of Ecolympics 2026! She won this year's Grand Prize bicycle and helmet!

Rose shared everything from making homemade gifts & paper mache decor out of scrap cardboard; to reducing single-use plastics by washing out and reusing take-out containers, jars, and bags; to using a reusable travel mug instead of disposable beverage containers; to composting coffee grounds and produce scraps; to volunteering her time at a wildlife rehabilitation center!
