UofL Students at Parkland Neighborhood Tree Planting 3-9-24The UofL Sustainability Council encourages students, faculty, and staff to kick off Spring Break 2025 by volunteering to help restore the urban tree canopy in our neighborhood!

Louisville Grows needs your help to plant 80 trees for residents and businesses in the Meriwether neighborhood on the northeast edge of Belknap Campus!

This is Louisville Grows' only planting event of the season and they are partnering with Metro Council District 15’s Building Our Blocks (BOB) program. BOB is an event that seeks to transform a single neighborhood in one day through projects such as tree planting, home repair, street safety improvements, beautification, and more.

As a volunteer-based organization, Louisville Grows depends on community members to help restore the urban tree canopy. Volunteers are led by trained Citizen Foresters during the tree planting. Volunteering to plant trees is the perfect way to give back to the community, fulfill service hours, and engage with others who share a common interest.

No experience necessary. Tools, gloves, snacks, coffee and water refills will be provided. Dress to get dirty - it’s rain or shine!

To volunteer, sign-up online or register day-of at our meetup location at The Bard (511 E Burnett Ave.) from 8:00am - 8:50 am. Planting groups will depart at 9:00 am.
