Louisville Solar Tour - October 8, 2016Various sites (map).

UofL employees and students who live in solar-powered homes will be opening our doors to give you a glimpse of our renewable energy future!

Throughout the day you can tour dozens of different homes and institutions featuring a variety of solar technologies, including the UofL Renewable Energy Lab (Speed School of Engineering, just south of Eastern Pkwy). Visitors to the UofL site may also view nearby: the dual-axis solar tracking array atop Sackett Hall, the Passive Solar Test Facility just west of the Brook Street railroad fly-over, the Conn Center for Renewable Energy Research, and the newly rededicated Phoenix House.

The tour can be experienced as part of a free group bike tour or as a self-guided tour. This annual event provides real-life examples of how families and businesses are harnessing free energy from the sun in the River City to generate electricity, heat water & indoor spaces, and slash monthly utility bills!
