In partnership with the College of Business, the LLC is designed for students majoring in business OR pre-business who want to build their professional networking through engagement with faculty, staff, UofL Alumni, business professionals, and their Business LLC peers. This community also emphasizes the importance of academic engagement, navigating life’s transitions, and how to use your toolbox of resources for a competitive career advantage. Members live in the same residence hall, take classes together, and participate in specialized programming focusing on academics, business careers, and social engagement.

- Assistance in transition from high school to college, both academically and socially
- Academic programs and guidance to assist you in becoming more successful as a student
- Opportunities to meet with faculty, advisors, mentors and business leaders in a social and professional setting
- Programming designed to help students discover their strengths and utilize their connections and resources
- Any incoming first-year student directly admitted to the College of Business OR any incoming first-year student declaring Pre-Business
- Starting this 26/27 academic year pre-business students are now eligible to
apply!
Fall 2026:
- CAMP 100: Campus Culture or GEN 100 (for Pre-Business)
- CIS 205: Information Systems in Organizations
- MGMT 301: Management and Organizational Behavior
Spring 2027:
- ECON 202: Principles of Macroeconomics
- COMM 112: Business and Professional Speaking
Students that have credit for one or more of these courses will be exempt from those courses.
Meet Your Advisor
Brandon Halcomb – Business Living Learning Community (LLC) Staff Advisor, University of Louisville
- In addition to serving as the Business Living Learning Community (LLC) Staff Advisor, I have worked as a Business Student Success Coordinator for the past 3½ years. I also teach the LLC section of CAMP 100 and collaborate with the Business Alumni Council.
- My goal for LLC students is not only to support their academic success, but also to help them gain an early start on their business careers by building strong professional networks with peers, faculty, alumni, and industry professionals.
- I have worked in higher education for 10+ years, with experience in career counseling, retention initiatives, success coaching, helping students navigate academic and personal barriers, facilitating professional networking opportunities, and promoting scholarships and campus resources for business students.
- Prior to joining UofL, I served as the Ready to Work Coordinator at Jefferson Community and Technical College, where I provided individualized success coaching and career pathway support to a diverse caseload of student parents.
- I earned a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Western Kentucky University in 2021, along with a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Administration.

- I’m originally from Bowling Green, Kentucky, and graduated from Butler Traditional High School in Louisville.
