eSports TC

The Louisville Esports Themed Community (TC) is in direct association with the Cardinal Gaming RSO. The TC will help provide an inclusive and welcoming space for casual and competitive gamers to live collectively on campus. The TC will provide an outlet and home for individuals to seek a path into the competitive side of video games and will foster an educational environment by living in a residence hall. The competitive games in Cardinal Gaming are Overwatch, Rocket League, Smite, Paladins, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Call of Duty, Valorant, League of Legends, and Rainbow Six Siege. The casual games in Cardinal Gaming are Apex Legends, Paladins, Smash, Minecraft, Hearthstone, Fortnite, Legends of Runeterra, and many more. For more information about the RSO and to request membership, visit the RSO webpage at Cardinal Gaming - EngageUofL (campuslabs.com). For participation in online events, please join the RSO Discord server.

Hi, I’m Eric Piernas Jr., the Assistant Director of Intramural Sports at the University of Louisville. I’ve been part of the Cardinal community since 2015—first as a student, and now as a full-time staff member since 2019. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance, completed a Master’s in Sport Administration, and most recently finished my MBA here at UofL.

Throughout my time at the university, I’ve been fortunate to work closely with students in areas like leadership, personal development, and campus recreation. I'm passionate about creating inclusive, engaging spaces where students can grow, challenge themselves, and make meaningful connections.

Advice for LLC/TC Students:

Get involved early and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. The people you meet and the experiences you have in your community can shape your entire college journey. Ask questions, be curious, and build relationships—you never know where they’ll take you. And remember, you’re not alone in this. I’m here to support you however I can.
