Enhancing the Residential Experience
University Housing & Resident Experience is committed to continuously improving our residential communities through targeted enhancements each year. From 2024 through 2026, we have invested in upgrades across multiple residence halls to improve comfort, functionality, and long-term reliability.
These enhancements range from refreshed community spaces to critical infrastructure improvements, all designed to support a better student living experience.

Summer 2026 Enhancements
Investing in Better Living Across Campus Housing
This summer, University Housing & Resident Experience is completing targeted upgrades across multiple residential communities ahead of the Fall 2026 semester.
Enhancements will take place across multiple residential communities, including Belknap Village, Bettie Johnson Hall, Community Park, and others. From refreshed community spaces to critical infrastructure upgrades, these improvements will enhance both daily living and long-term reliability across on-campus housing.
Belknap Village North & South
Study rooms, chair rails, common areas, and trash rooms are being repainted to refresh shared spaces and enhance the overall community environment.
Bettie Johnson Hall
Upgrades to hallway air handling systems will improve airflow and comfort, while duct cleaning enhances overall air quality throughout the building.
Billy Minardi Hall
Camera inspections and targeted pipe repairs and replacements will strengthen system performance and improve overall infrastructure reliability.
Community Park
Water source heat pumps are being replaced to improve temperature control and efficiency, alongside new exterior doors to enhance access and security.
Kurz Hall
Updated floor finishes will refresh interior spaces, while duct cleaning will improve air quality and circulation throughout the building.
Louisville Hall
Upgrades to the sanitary waste system will improve long-term reliability and support consistent building operations.
Summer 2025 Enhancements
Investing in Better Living Across Campus Housing
During Summer 2025, University Housing & Resident Experience continued targeted upgrades across multiple residential communities to support both immediate student needs and long-term facility performance.
Enhancements focused on improving building functionality, refreshing shared spaces, and addressing key infrastructure systems. From interior painting and common area updates to mechanical and equipment improvements, these projects helped enhance the overall living environment while supporting reliable day-to-day operations across campus housing.
Belknap Village North & South
Interior painting in stairwells and elevator lobbies, along with new flooring installations, refreshed high-traffic areas. Additional turnkey improvements and shared-space updates enhanced the overall look and functionality of the community.
Bettie Johnson Hall
Upgrades included new micro-fridges, ice machine improvements, and shared-space enhancements. Additional maintenance and equipment updates supported day-to-day functionality and resident convenience.
Billy Minardi Hall
Painting in bedrooms and stairwells refreshed interior spaces, improving the overall appearance and residential experience.
Community Park
HVAC upgrades, exhaust system improvements, and new flooring installations enhanced climate control, air circulation, and overall building performance.
Kurz Hall
Flooring replacements, hallway and bedroom updates, and repairs from previous water damage improved both aesthetics and long-term durability within the building.
Louisville Hall
Entry and exit door replacements improved building access, security, and overall functionality for residents.
University Tower Apartments
Door upgrades and shared equipment improvements enhanced building access and supported reliable operations in apartment-style housing.
University Pointe
Outdoor furniture additions and early-stage facility work supported building usability and long-term readiness.

Investing in Better Living Across Campus Housing
During Summer 2024, University Housing & Resident Experience completed significant upgrades across multiple residence halls, focusing on large-scale renovations, system replacements, and community-driven improvements.
Projects included major updates to living spaces, mechanical systems, and shared amenities—enhancing both the day-to-day student experience and the long-term performance of residential facilities.
Belknap Village North & South
Conference rooms and lobby areas were upgraded with new luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring, improving durability and enhancing shared community spaces.
Bettie Johnson Hall
Extensive renovations transformed residential spaces, including new flooring, fresh paint, drywall repairs, and updated cabinetry. Major system upgrades—such as HVAC installation, LED lighting, plumbing replacements, and new countertops—enhanced comfort, efficiency, and long-term reliability. Updated furniture in living and dining areas completed the refresh.
Community Park
A former computer lab was renovated into secure bike storage in response to resident feedback, improving functionality and supporting student needs.
Kurz Hall
Community restroom renovations on the first floor refreshed shared spaces with new flooring, paint, and finishes. Outdoor hammock installations in the courtyard added new opportunities for relaxation and community use.
University Tower Apartments
Hallway painting across multiple floors refreshed interior spaces, while flooring upgrades in lobby and conference areas improved shared environments for residents.
