Serving his fifteenth term as the Tribal Chairman of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, Greg Sarris is a noted Miwok and Pomo author and former professor. His memoir in essays, Becoming Story: A Journey Among Seasons, Places, Trees, and Ancestors, not only looks at his own life from his childhood with non-Native, adoptive parents and then the foster care system to his life as a tribal leader, but also asks each of us to consider our relationship with the lands we are from and our ancestors who inhabited them. For this reading circle, we'll each bring our own ideas and questions to what promises to be an engaging conversation about humans, place, and story. Please join us as we engage with this thought-provoking book.
