Neleigh Olson wins Kentucky Writers Fellowship
Neleigh Olson, a part-time faculty member in the composition program, has won the Baltic Writing Residency's Kentucky Writers Fellowship. The program is based in Louisville but also has several residencies in the United Kingdom.
Olson holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Kentucky and an MA in The Beatles, Popular Music, and Society from Liverpool Hope University, where she explored the impact of place, space and locality on popular music. Her own writing examines the complexities and historical resonances of the horse/human relationship, as inspired by her 14 years as an exercise rider for Thoroughbred racehorses.
