Research Interests

Pursuing research aimed at finding new solutions to difficult clinical problems in Pediatric Surgery. The Division of Pediatric Surgery participates in the MidWest Pediatric Surgery Research Consortium.

Dr. Downard joined the University of Louisville in 2007 and is a Professor of Surgery with tenure. She has been the Division Chief of Pediatric Surgery since 2020. In her free time, Dr. Downard enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. She also likes to play tennis, travel, and is an amateur food critic.
