Memorial for Dr. Frank Miller
Written by Dr. Kelly McMasters
When I go to bed at night and reflect on my own shortcomings,
When I think about all of the ways that I could be a better person,
I wish I were more kind
I wish I were more considerate
I wish I were more generous
I wish I were more appreciative of those around me
I wish I were more concerned about the least among us in this world
I wish I could give people comfort
I wish I had the heart of a teacher
I wish I could make everyone I greet smile and laugh
I wish I had the wisdom and skill that everyone admires
I wish I had strong convictions and a sense of purpose
I wish I found humor and had fun every day I walk this earth
I wish I were the type of person who brings out the best in everyone around him
When I go to bed at night and reflect on my own shortcomings,
When I think about all of the ways that I could be a better person,
I ask God to be just a little bit more like Frank Miller.
Godspeed, Frank. The world was a much better place while you were here. Rest assured that your legacy will live on forever through the countless lives you have changed for the better.
