Samuel D. Carter, MD
Dr. Carter is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopy. He earned his bachelor’s degree and medical degree from the University of Louisville. Dr. Carter completed his residency training in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Louisville. He then completed a fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at Orthopaedic Research of Virginia, in Richmond. He is board certified and holds subspecialty certification in sports medicine. In addition to sports medicine, Dr. Carter has special interests in ligament reconstruction, cartilage restoration, partial knee replacement, patellar realignment and arthroscopy of the knee, shoulder, elbow and ankle. Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Carter also serves the community through his volunteer work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana. Dr. Carter enjoys playing basketball, street hockey, flag football, golf and running. He also likes to travel, play the guitar and spend time with his wife.
