Jon Carlson, MD
Dr. Carlson earned his undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Philosophy from Indiana University and earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. He also worked as an EMT in Phoenix, Arizona prior to medical school. Dr. Carlson completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency training at the Detroit Medical Center under the direction of Prof. Rahul Vaidya and Prof. Stephen E. Lemos. Dr. Carlson completed additional training for Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery with a fellowship at the University of Louisville under the direction of Prof. Craig Roberts and Prof. David Seligson. Dr. Carlson’s has a particular interest in orthopaedic trauma surgery, especially pelvic and acetabular surgery, periarticular fractures, nonunions and infections as well as anterior total and partial hip arthroplasty. He was awarded the resident teaching award for full-time faculty in 2016 and holds the rank of Assistant Professor as well as Associate Program Director.
