Dear Friends and Colleagues,
2022 has been a tremendous year for our department, having added several new and outstanding faculty members, and receiving some of the best residency applications to date.
This year Dr. Hari Ankem joined our faculty, and he has been a tremendous addition. Dr. Ankem did his Trauma Fellowship here at UofL, so it is wonderful having him work with us. He is highly engaged in research and is an extension of our skillset on the main campus to the region. We are excited to see all that he will continue to bring to the department.
We also had Dr. Nicholas Laco join our faculty after completing his Reconstruction of Foot and Ankle Surgery and Limb Salvage Fellowship. He has been an invaluable addition of our Podiatry service and we are grateful to have him on board.
Our most recent addition is Dr. Miguel Daccarett. Dr. Daccarett joins us from the University of Chicago. He specializes in Trauma, Sport Medicine, and Hip Preservation. His experience on hip preservation is unique in the Louisville area. We are excited about his work with our fellows and the knowledge he has to share with our residents!
Our residency program is thriving as we received nearly 700 applications for the upcoming year. From those 700 outstanding applications, we have narrowed it down to 52 candidates that we are eager to meet on interview day. Interview day will be on January 20, 2023, and we are looking forward to it.
Thank you to everyone for such a wonderful year, we are excited to see what 2023 has in store.
Wishing you a fantastic Holiday season and a healthy and prosperous New Year!
Sincerely,
Rodolfo Zamora. M.D.
