Amit Gupta, MD
Dr. Gupta earned his medical degree from University of Delhi, India. He completed a residency in orthopaedics from the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry and Royal Liverpool hospitals in England. He then completed hand and microsurgery fellowships with the Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Micro Surgery in Louisville and with the Pulvertaft Hand Centre, Derby, England, and University of Bern, Switzerland. In addition to offering a full range of arm and hand services, Dr. Gupta has special interests in wrist and elbow surgery, post-trauma reconstruction of the hand and pediatric hand surgery. Away from the office Dr. Gupta enjoys going to plays and listening to music, particularly Indian percussion instruments, as well as doing research and writing. He also likes to travel and experience other cultures. Dr. Gupta has been voted by his peers as one of Louisville Magazine’s Top Docs for 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2019. He was awarded Teacher of the Year 2006, Presented by the Residents of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, University of Louisville.
