Rolando Puno, MD
Dr. Puno was born in the Philippines. He received his Bachelor of Science in Premedical Studies at the University of Santo Tomas and his Medical Degree at the University of the East. Dr. Puno completed two full Orthopaedic Residency Training Programs, first at the University of the Philippines and the second at the University of Louisville. He is fellowship trained in Spine Surgery at the renowned Twin Cities Scoliosis Center and in Orthopaedic Trauma and Total Joint Surgery at the Hennepin County Medical Center, both in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Dr. Puno is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has been a staff physician with the Norton Leatherman Spine Center since 1991, serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Louisville's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, and as the medical director at its Biomechanics Laboratory. Dr. Puno has great interest in the reconstruction of complex spinal deformity for both pediatric and adult patients as well as in degenerative conditions of the spine. Patients from all around the world have come to Dr. Puno for surgery and treatment of their challenging spinal problems. In addition to the many honors and awards that Dr. Puno has received, the Surgical Suite of the Norton Children's Hospital is dedicated in his name, recognizing his excellence in Orthopaedic and Spine Care and a lifetime of service to the Children of Kentuckiana.
