What do you love most about your family and/or friends?
My family is incredibly welcoming. Prior to COVID, our home was the get together spot for friends and family. There is always something going on in the garage.
What undergraduate and graduate degrees do you have?
I received my undergrad degree in Biology from St. Ambrose University. GO BEES!
Why law school and why Brandeis?
Brandeis offered a competitive program and was in a metro-hub that seemed to fit my comfort level. I chose to pursue a law degree in order to have a better understanding of the world around me. I had the science portion under control...but I didn't understand the legislature and justice system that impacts our day to day life.
How have you changed since your 1L year?
I spend a lot more time reading and a lot less time in the laboratory.
In addition to getting into the UofL Brandeis School of Law, what are you most proud of and why?
I'm most proud of my efforts into overall wellness. From mental health, drinking more water, exercise, cooking healthy food, and even taking the time to enjoy my side hobbies. Wellness is so important and I'm really proud of my efforts towards achieving that goal.
How do you define Inclusive? How do you define Excellence?
For me "inclusive" means that all can come as they are and be accepted. Leave all of it at the door and see each other with a sense of humanity. I think "excellence" naturally follows. "Excellence" for me is pushing the limit as to what is expected and seeing the fruition of pushing those limits.
What is your professional goal for five years from now?
In five years I'm not sure what my goals will be or where my life will be. But I do hope that I'm a few steps closer towards being a judge.
What is your favorite quote?
"Don't fall asleep yet. Contrary to popular belief, that's not where dreams get accomplished." - George Watsky
