What do you love most about your family and/or friends?

Without my family, I would not be the person I am today. The struggles that we went through and have overcome created the motto for me that anything is possible. We did not have much, but we had each other and that was all that mattered. I'm grateful for my friends because they're "go-getters", we hold each other accountable and are on the same pursuit, to be the best.

What undergraduate and graduate degrees do you have?

I went to Western Kentucky University and majored in Political Science and Economics.

Why law school and why Brandeis?

I am an entrepreneur at heart, and I have a passion for starting different businesses and scaling them. With the current services I provide for my clients I could serve their needs by providing them an additional service. I chose Brandeis because of the school's devotion to public service and emphasizing the importance of assisting the community. The Central High School Partnership was a great factor in my decision.

How have you changed since your 1L year?

I have changed in many ways since my 1L year. I have placed a greater emphasis on my physical and mental health which created a greater sense of focus and endurance in my life. I have become more efficient as well through implementing and using a calendar.

What is the greatest challenge you've overcome and why?

The greatest challenge I have overcome is that I grew up too fast. My parents were refugees who came to this country with nothing but the clothes on their backs and a grocery bag. They did not know English and I had to teach myself the language and then be there for my parents to translate. Being in poverty presented an additional struggle with persistent pressure on how to make ends meet with the little we had. These challenges forced me to think like an adult early on and take life more seriously, but I am grateful for the struggle because it made me who I am today.

How do you define Inclusive? How do you define Excellence?

I define Inclusive as providing equal opportunity for all backgrounds and fostering an environment where everyone can prosper regardless of their background. Excellence is a habit that is developed through consistently performing at a high level, and never settling for less.

What is your professional goal for five years from now?

My professional goal for five years from now is to own a successful law firm and title company.

What is your favorite quote?

“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” - Muhammad Ali
