What do you love most about your family and/or friends?

I love that my friends and family are my place of comfort. They have been my sounding board through my highs and lows and constantly inspire me to achieve my best. I know I would not be where I am today without their love and support and am grateful to have every one of them in my life.

What undergraduate and graduate degrees do you have?

Bachelor of Science in Political Science from UofL

Why law school and why Brandeis?

I came to law school to gain the knowledge I needed to help others and my community. People in need of legal services are not typically going through the best times of their lives, but I love being able to help them through the daunting court system and try to make a tough situation as painless as possible.  I chose Brandeis because I truly love Louisville. This city is full of amazing individuals and opportunities, and I am very lucky to call it home.

How have you changed since your 1L year?

I have changed quite a bit since my 1L year. The biggest change I see in myself relates to self-confidence. When I started law school, I was afraid to speak up in class and did not interact too much with other students. As I wrap up my 3L year, I freely raise my hand in class and am thankful to all of the wonderful people I have met and had the pleasure of forming bonds with!

What is the greatest challenge you've overcome and why?

The greatest challenge I've had to overcome was last semester when my mother was hospitalized for a week following two severe seizures triggered by a mass that was discovered in her brain. It was an extremely trying time for my whole family, but it made me realize the immense power of love and support. I would not have been able to get through that period without the strong support system around me. Thankfully, my mom is doing great, and I cannot wait to walk across the stage at graduation on Mother's Day in celebration of her!

How do you define Inclusive? How do you define Excellence?

To me, inclusive means that everyone has a seat at the table and feels safe enough to have their voices heard. My definition of excellence is not perfection. I believe excellence means you are putting in the work to improve yourself and do better in everything you do.

What is your professional goal for five years from now?

In five years, I hope to have made partner and continue helping my clients navigate their divorce and custody matters with empathy and compassion.

What is your favorite quote?

“Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud." -Maya Angelou
