As Director of Administration and Operations/Lead Fiscal Officer, Elana reports directly to the Dean and serves as the lead financial manager for the School. The Director of Administration and Operations/Lead Fiscal Officer is responsible for oversight of all aspects of daily financial and administrative operations of the Kent School of Social Work and Family Science, including, but not limited to accounting, budgeting, purchasing/procurement, payroll, facilities management, and business operations. This position serves as an integral part of the management team of the School and key to development, implementation, and support of strategic planning initiatives, budgeting and forecasting, providing financial performance analytics, and identifying key financial metrics for initiatives considered for implementation.
Elana and the team of KISS strive to provide great customer service and financial and administrative support for Kent internal support services.
Brandon Burke - Unit Financial Administrator IV - (502) 852-3934
This position is the fiscal manager for the Kent School Center for Community and Family Well-Being (CFCWB) with an advisory role to the Center Director and Center staff regarding university policies and procedures related to service center administration. This position will also serve as the fiscal manager within the Kent Internal Support Services (KISS) to facilitate management of grants, general funds, gifts and endowments, and other funding sources. Provide accounting and project management oversight for financial activities and financial oversight for Principal Investigators, program directors, and research and support staff.
Nacetia Burke - Financial Coordinator, Sr. - (502) 852-7418
This position is the Human Resources Manager of the Kent School of Social Work and Family Science and is responsible for coordination and management of talent acquisition, payroll and position management functions for the unit. This position merges the interaction between payroll and position attributes to coordinate seamless processes for our faculty and staff and is responsible for adjunct faculty personnel management for the unit to fill over 70 slots per semester for Kent School of Social Work and Family Science course programming. This position is the manager for all talent recruitment for the Kent School of Social Work and Family Science.

In this role, Debra manages all information technology initiatives for the Kent School of Social Work and Family Science to include technology planning, directing implementation of new technologies, working with vendors on procuring new software, and hardware acquisition. This role provides strategic advice on using technology to achieve user goals and collaborates with central information technology unit on uniform compliance. Debra also provides guidance to faculty, staff, and students regarding technology matters.
Joseph Higdon - Sr Manager, Business Unit Administration- (502) 852-6406
This position is the senior manager over post-ward grant financial management for the Kent School of Social Work and Family Science and provides supervisory oversight of financial administrators and corresponding activities. This position also serves as the technical expert for accounting, project management, and billing databases for the unit and provides interface to improve functionality with vendor programmers and central university departments. Direct coordination of BA functionality and troubleshooting with senior level staff in University Central Business Operations.
Jennifer Jenkins - Director of Communications and Marketing - (502) 852-2430
This position will serve as the primary liaison with the Delphi Center and the Office of Communication and Marketing for the Kent School of Social Work and Family Science and provide primary responsibility for developing marketing initiatives for the online and traditional academic programs. Develop promotional publications, newsletters, web communications, videos, and graphic identity. Direct marketing strategy for all social media activities. Manage all aspects of the Kent School of Social Work and Family Science website, including creating content, designing visual elements, management and maintenance. Serve as brand manager for the college; strengthen the national image and reputation of the School. Manage the marketing budget, purchasing and distribution of marketing collateral and some advertising and promotional event fees for the college. Provide consultation to faculty and staff regarding OCM policies, and best practices in marketing, and marketing strategy for academic programs and research projects.
Ab Khorshidian - Programmer Analyst III - (502) 852-1981
Primarily responsible for combining knowledge of information systems and Kent School/University operations to communicate and develop analytic as well as programmatic solutions that address operational challenges. Includes serving as the system administrator for the Kent School’s student placement management system and admissions database; responsible for website digital analytics management and analyzing site performance; oversight of process improvement and efficiencies using technology; and provide technical support and project management in development and implementation of software applications utilized at the Kent School.
Shelly Schroll - Unit Financial Administrator III- (502) 852-6405
This position serves as a fiscal manager within KISS to facilitate management of grants, general funds, gifts and endowments, and other funding sources. Provide accounting and project management oversight for financial activities and financial oversight for Principal Investigators, program directors, and research and support staff.
Brenda Williams - Business Unit Administrator
This position provides coordination and management of all procurement, travel, budget reconciliation, and other administrative and operational functions of the school for Kent School educational and research enterprises.
