Tell us about yourself!

Hi! I’m originally from Pakistan, but was raised in Evansville, IN which is not too far from Louisville! So besides offering a comprehensive stroke center with amazing faculty, U of L was a perfect location for me to pursue my residency. When I’m not thinking about medicine, I’m usually learning a new recipe to cook, listening to a podcast and spending time with my family.

Why did you choose Neurology?

I chose Neurology for many reasons.
Besides love for the vast field itself, I love the culture of Neurology. It’s a field full of enormous respect for curiosity and true learning and understanding.

I was also fortunate enough to have great neurology mentors (including my wonderful mother) throughout the start of my medical career. They made me realize neurologists don’t jus focus on what the problem is, but where the problem is and the best treatment and prevention. It’s a field centered truly around patient care which really attracted me to the field.
