There are various scholarships available for University of Louisville graduate/professional and undergraduate students that do not require repayment, such as merit or academic scholarships. While full-ride scholarships are competitive and rare, we provide numerous funding options to facilitate effective cost management.

In addition to grants, the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) offers scholarships for state residents, from the Kentucky Educational Excellence merit award to scholarships supporting education students and future teachers.

Beth K. Fields Alumni Scholarship Fund | Supports scholarships for full-time, non-traditional students with a minimum 3.0 grade point average who are at least 25 years of age and support at least one dependent. The award is determined by student academic merit. | Brinkman Family Scholarship Fund | Supports students who graduated from a high school in Jefferson County, KY whose parents or guardians earn an annual income of less than 400% of the then-existing federal poverty guideline for a family or household of four persons residing in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. | Brooks-Gibson Scholarship | This Fund Provides Scholarships To Full-Time, First Year, Undergraduate Students Who Graduated From Union County High School. The Award Is Determined By Student Academic Merit And Financial Need. | Carl F Pollard Endowed Scholarship Fund | This endowment supports a scholarship to certain qualifed first-generation college students attending the University of Louisville. | Charles and Lillian Ojanen Thomas Endowed Scholarship Fund | Supports renewable scholarships for students at the University of Louisville who are orphans, grew up in foster homes or are otherwise underprivileged. The award is determined by student financial need. | Dane Wagge Endowed Scholarship Fund | Supports scholarships for incoming freshmen from designated counties in the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati area. The award is determined by student academic merit. | Denny Crum Scholarship | Supports renewable scholarships for high school seniors or graduates of Greater Louisville area high schools or transfer students from a Greater Louisville area community college. Applicants must demonstrate leadership, community service, and academic achievements. | Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Scholarship Fund | Supports renewable scholarships for Kentucky residents seeking an undergraduate degree at the University of Louisville. The award is determined by student financial need. | Dr. Sava M. and Emma C. Roberts Memorial Scholarship | Supports renewable scholarships for students in the College of Arts and Science, the Kent School of Social Work and the School of Medicine. The award is determined by student financial need and/or academic merit. | Eagle Steel Scholarship Fund | Supports scholarships for undergraduate students at the University of Louisville with preference for Eagle Steel employees or dependants. In accordance to restrictions from the Paul Ogle Foundation matching program, the students must be from the Southern Indiana Counties of Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Harrison, and Scott counties. The award is determined by student academic merit and/or financial need. | Fischer Family Endowed Scholarship Fund | Supports scholarship for students who, in order of preference are 1) employees of SerVend or an employee's dependent; 2) a Trinity High School graduate with demonstrated financial need; 3) a graduate of Jefferson Community and Technical College (JCTC) or a JCTC transfer with 24 or more completed credit hours who has demonstrated financial need; 4) a resident of Jefferson County (KY) with demonstrated financial need. | Ford/EEOC Endowed Scholarship | Preference is given to applicants with a connection to Ford Motor Co. connection: employees, spouses, and dependents. Scholarships are targeted primarily to students in undergraduate programs; however, at the college's discretion scholarships may be awarded to students in graduate level programs. | Heidi King Vaughn Endowed Scholarship Fund | Supports a renewable scholarship for a student being served by the Disability Resource Center. Preference is given to students from Indiana or Kentucky. Students must demonstrate in a written essay why then need the scholarship. The award is determined by student financial need and/or academic merit. | J. Gorman and Mary E. Conliffe Scholarship Fund | Scholarship support to one or more undergraduate students who demonstrate academic promise but face documented financial limitations. Funds may be applied toward the recipients’ cost of an undergraduate education, including but not limited to, tuition, fees, and room and/or board. Applicants commit 10 hrs of community service per semester (donor preference is at a homeless shelter). Selection by Office of Financial Aid. | John Caddy Memorial/American Air Filter Scholarship Fund2 | Supports scholarships for full-time students seeking an undergraduate, graduate or professional degree at the University of Louisvlle with preference given to employees and spouses or children of employees at American Air Filter. The award is determined by student academic merit. | Julie Beth Hayden Foundation Scholarship Fund | Provide scholarship support (tuition, fees, books, and/or room and board) for undergraduate or graduate student(s) who are profoundly deaf and use ASL, Oralism, or Total Communication as their means of communication. Recipients selected by the Student Financial Aid Office in conjunction with the Disability Resource Center. | Lenny Lyles Scholarship Fund | Supports scholarships for incoming, full-time, undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences who are economically disadvantaged and from west Louisville. Students must maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average. | Major Briggs Scholarship | This Fund Provides Scholarships To Non-Kentucky Residents In The College Of Arts & Sciences. Preference Given To Air Force Rotc Cadets. The Award Is Determined By Student Financial Need. | Michael R. Baer Scholarship Fund | Supports scholarships for high school graduates in the Central Kentucky area with preference given to students whose parent or guardian are involved with or a victim of a terminal disease. The award is determined by student financial need and students must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average in high school or previous college. | Ramsey- Community Trust Bancorp. | Supports scholarships for dependents of Community Trust Bancorp. | Raymond A. Kent V-12 Scholarship Fund | Supports scholarships for direct descendents of individuals who served in the V-12 Program or Naval ROTC at U of L. The award is determined by student financial need and/or academic merit. | Robert & Odile Whitaker Endowed Scholarship | Supports scholarships for students seeking a degree at the University of Louisville College of Business with preference for juniors or seniors. The award is determined by student academic merit. | Robert and Gladys Koetter Family Scholarship Fund | Supports scholarships for undergraduate students at the University of Louisville with preference for Koetter Construction employees or dependants. Butt Memorial Scholarship Fund | Provides funding for renewable scholarships to students seeking a degree at UofL. The award is determined by student financial need. | Walter H. Stover Fund | To award scholarships to students pursuing a degree at the Speed Scientific School. | Watson Family Endowed Scholarship Fund | To assist KY residents with undergraduate tuition, board in campus housing, and fees. The scholarship(s) will be awarded, based on financial need, to one or more full-time students, who have significant financial need. The Donor’s prioritized preferences are first- or second-generation college student of African-American heritage; First-generation college students from single-parent families; students from immigrant or refugee families; first-generation college students from rural areas of Kentucky. Recipients selected by Financial Aid Office. | William S Butler Scholarship | This Fund Will Provide Scholarships For Book Publishing. | Zonta Club of Louisville Inez Webb Fund | Supports scholarships for single, female undergraduate students at the University of Louisville. The award is determined by student financial need. |

Transfer and Nontraditional Student Scholarships
One destination for transfer student scholarships and scholarships for students returning to school as adults is the Office of Transfer & Adult Services. Tuition Waivers
Certain applicants (veterans, military, UofL employees and their families) may use tuition waivers (managed by the Office of the Bursar) under certain conditions to reduce the amount of tuition on their bill. Military and veteran students can review military tuition assistance information and learn about education benefits for veterans.

Metro College
Apart from scholarships, our unique partnership with Metropolitan College (MC) pays full tuition for students who enroll. In return for paid tuition, as well as other benefits, students earn a paycheck working night shifts at UPS.

MC, in partnership with JCPS and UofL, also provides a tuition-assisted pathway, as well as academic support, to receive a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education to fulfill K-5 teaching positions in the state of Kentucky. Learn about this pathway.
