Former UofL English majors answer the "why English?" question

Stephen George, Class of 2003

This year Director of Undergraduate Studies Karen Chandler started a new tradition: including an interview with former UofL English grads in each month’s first edition of News & Notes in English. Each interviewee discusses why English was the right degree for their career path.

President and General Manager of Louisville Public Media, Stephen George, talks about the importance of becoming a careful reader and writer. Lawyer Tian Chan reflects on how her English degree gave her an advantage in law school because there she learned that every word counts when you’re arguing for someone’s rights.
