GSS Newsletter - Week of 10/14/20

Dear CEHD Graduate Students,

We're halfway through this term and despite the novelty of this term and the challenges that have come our way, you all have been rocking it out! We have a few more weeks to go and we know the days are getting shorter and the weather chillier, but you've got this! We're here to support you to the end!

Spring 2021 Academic Calendar Adjustments! The University has decided to adjust the start and end of the Spring 2021 term due to COVID-19. The first day of classes for Spring 2021, will be January 11, 2020. You can find all of the academic calendar adjustments here. Don't forget that this adjustment affects all of the other deadlines like add/drop, registration for Summer/Fall 2021, and Commencement.

REMINDER: Winter registration began on October 12, 2020. More information on course offerings can be found here. Consider taking a class and getting ahead!

HAPPENING TODAY! Virtual Graduate & Professional School Fair: Wednesday, October 14, 2020, from 11 am - 2 pm

NEW EVENT ALERT: CARDSTART! CardStart is UoL's own version of a startup competition! It is a 48-hour event where University of Louisville students come together to form interdisciplinary teams to brainstorm and develop new technologies to solve real world problems in the healthcare sector. Teams will then pitch, Shark Tank style, to a panel of judges who will decide which four teams will progress to the finals in Spring 2021! More information here!

RESOURCE ALERT: Schedule a research consultation with a librarian! Subject specialist librarians can provide in-depth guidance on searching databases, evaluating sources, and more. This is perfect for students working on research papers, these, or dissertations. For more information, contact Rob Detmering, and to schedule an online appointment, visit the webpage.
