"I have known Avonne since she entered the school’s first cohort of MPH students in 2005. Her original and significant peer-reviewed publications have provided a solid contribution to our knowledge on ethnic disparity for breast cancer risk and survival. Avonne has always demonstrated a strong commitment to her alma mater, an uncompromising work ethic, driving perseverance, and focused effort on her research in the area of cancer that affects women. It has been a pleasure and an honor to work closely with an individual who exhibits a strong sense of ethics, leadership qualities, a clear and direct communication style, and who interacts easily and professionally with students, peers, and collaborators."
