Kentucky Racing Health Services Center
Serving Health Care Needs of Backside Workers
The Kentucky Racing Health Services Center (KRHSC) is a nonprofit clinic funded by the Kentucky Racing Health and Welfare Fund (KRHWF). The center was started in 2005 as a joint venture between the fund and the UofL School of Nursing to provide comprehensive health care to the backside workers of the thoroughbred racing industry. The KRHSC provided more than 13,000 patient visits in its first 10 years of service.
The KRHSC offers free or low-cost care to individuals who are currently employed as backside workers, as well as their family members. Individuals need to complete a brief eligibility form with the KRHWF.
