Professor Justin Walker publishes op-ed on FBI independence in Wall Street Journal
Justin Walker, a professor at the Brandeis School of Law, has written about what he sees as the dangers of an independent FBI for the George Washington Law Review.
Now, he has distilled that scholarly argument into an op-ed that has been published by The Wall Street Journal.
The column is in the paper's March 26, 2018, print edition and is available online to subscribers.
In the op-ed and the law review article, Walker argues that "calls for an independent FBI are misguided and dangerous." He uses examples from history to demonstrate the risk to civil liberties when the FBI is not held accountable to the president.
