Prof. Maynard signs onto amicus brief

Professor Goldburn P. Maynard Jr. signed on to an amicus brief submitted to the New York Court of Appeals.

The issue at hand was whether skin color is a cognizable class under Batson v. Kentucky. The court ruled that prospective jurors' skin color can be used to mount an anti-discrimination challenge to a prosecutor's peremptory strike.
