Prof. Ariana Levinson weighs in on Humana's move to pay $2.5 million in back wages
Brandeis School of Law Professor Ariana Levinson recently commented on insurance company Humana's move to pay $2.5 million in back wages to more than 750 women as part of a conciliation agreement with the U.S. Department of Labor.
The department claims that in 2011-12, Humana paid women in several positions less than men in similar positions.
Although Humana does not admit fault in this agreement, Levinson, a labor and employment law expert, says that the gender pay gap exists in many industries.
