Melanie Bootes (’99) named as KFC’s Chief Legal Officer
Melanie Bootes, a 1999 graduate of Brandeis School of Law, has been promoted to Chief Legal Officer of KFC U.S., headquartered in Louisville.
She has been with KFC since February of 2003. Prior to becoming Senior Counsel in 2011, Bootes served in a number of legal capacities at KFC, advising on a broad range of legal issues including marketing and advertising, regulatory matters, product development/QA, franchising matters, and litigation.
Prior to joining KFC, Bootes served as a litigation associate with what is now Bingham Greenebaum Doll, also in Louisville.
“Known for her strategic thinking and vast legal acumen, Melanie will undoubtedly continue our charge of turning around this great brand and adeptly leading our fantastic legal team,” KFC said in a statement.
