Kurt Metzmeier, associate director of the Law Library, became intrigued in the history of the topic when he came across a 1971 newspaper article.
Metzmeier's most recent book is Writing the Legal Record: Law Reporters in Nineteenth-Century Kentucky (University Press of Kentucky, 2016).
