Justice Hughes, 1980 graduate, nominated to 6th Circuit Court by President Obama
Justice Lisabeth Tabor Hughes, a 1980 graduate of the Brandeis School of Law, has been nominated to the 6th Circuit Court by President Obama. She was sworn in as justice for the Supreme Court of Kentucky on Sept. 10, 2007.
Justice Hughes graduated magna cum laude the from Brandeis School of Law and was also named the Outstanding Graduate of her law school class.
Before serving as judge, she practiced law for 15 years, concentrating on business and commercial litigation.
Justice Hughes is president of the Louis D. Brandeis Inn of Court and is also a past president of the UofL School of Law Alumni Council. She was the UofL Alumni Fellow in 2009.
