How does crowdfunding function in today's business environment?
What role does crowdfunding play in business finance?
That's the topic of the second annual William Marshall Bullitt Memorial Lecture in Law, 4 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Brandeis School of Law.
Joan MacLeod Heminway is the Rick Rose Distinguished Professor of Law at The University of Tennessee Knoxville College of Law.
She will present “Is Crowdfunding the Answer? It Depends on the Question…”
Her lecture will describe the current state of play in the crowdfunding space and will offer thoughts on ways in which crowdfunding may become a more permanent part of business finance.
The lecture series is sponsored by Lowry Watkins Jr., grandson of William Marshall Bullitt. Bullitt received his law degree from the University of Louisville in 1895 and later served as solicitor general of the United States.
The lecture is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.
The lecture is pending Kentucky Bar Association approval for one hour of CLE credit.
