Brandeis School of Law hosting third annual Junior Scholars Virtual Colloquium
On July 22, Brandeis School of Law will host the third annual Junior Scholars Virtual Colloquium. The Colloquium embraces an experimental digital format to connect a broad range of scholars across the country, allowing participants to discuss ideas virtually (via Skype) and in real time.
The Colloquium was first organized by Gonzaga Law professor Jessica Kiser and last year’s conference was organized by Michigan State College of Law professor Benjamin P. Edwards.
This year's participants include Brandeis Professor JoAnne Sweeny, who is hosting the workshop. Her presentation will be titled, "The Human Rights Act as a 'Villains' Charter:' A Discourse Analysis of Media Portrayals of the United Kingdom's Human Rights Act."
Other participants include Jessica Kiser, from Gonzaga Law School; Stacey Lantagne, from University of Mississippi Law School; Cathy Hwang, from Stanford Law School; Benjamin P. Edwards, from Barry University's Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law; Laura N. Coordes, Arizona State University, Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law; Agnieszka A. McPeak, University of Toledo College of Law; Francesca Laguardia, Montclair State University; Aliza P. Cover, University of Idaho College of Law; Benjamin P. Cover, University of Idaho College of Law; and Erin Archerd, University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
"I got some really valuable feedback and very much appreciate the opportunity to connect with and learn from other junior faculty from around the country -- from the comfort of my own office," said Idaho Law Professor Aliza Cover.
