Adjunct professor honored by Center for Women and Families
Tom FitzGerald, director of the Kentucky Resources Council and a longtime adjunct professor at Brandeis Law, has been honored with a lifetime achievement award from The Center for Women and Families.
FitzGerald is the 2017 Joan E. Thomas Lifetime Achievement Award winner. He'll be honored at an event Feb. 17, 2017.
FitzGerald, known as Fitz to his friends, has been an adjunct professor at the law school for the past 30 years, teaching courses in environmental and energy law.
"Fitz is Kentucky's leading public interest environmental lawyer. There is no environmental or natural resources lawyer who is more respected or appreciated than Fitz," says Professor Tony Arnold. "If it were not for his work, our legislation would be poorer, our regulatory systems at all levels would be less effective, and our efforts to protect and responsibly manage our natural resources and environment would be weaker."
