HRtalks Wellness: Your Healthy Heart
Get Healthy Now is teaming up with AnthemEAP to discuss Heart Health in observance of Heart Month. We will review important facts and risk factors to improve your quality of life, longevity, and overall health. This session will provide resources, symptom recognition for strokes and heart attacks, and key diet and nutrition guidance to reduce your risk of heart disease.
Get Healthy Now is teaming up with AnthemEAP to discuss the importance of self-care. Self-care is key to your health and empowers you to adapt to change. We will focus on vital self-care elements such as nutrition, sleep management, and physical activity. We will also discuss the role of stress management and the importance of communication and setting healthy boundaries to foster happier lives.

Get Healthy Now is hosting a ‘More in 2024’ series that will identify areas in our lives that we can explore more in 2024. Topics that will be discussed include but are not limited to purpose, emotional intelligence, empathy, joyful living, gratitude, and reflection. Join us on this enlightening journey to learn more about ourselves and how we can explore more in 2024.
Get Healthy Now is teaming up with the American Heart Association to discuss “Life’s Essential 8.” Life’s Essential 8 are the key measures for improving and maintaining cardiovascular health, as defined by the American Heart Association.
To kick off our ‘More in 2024’ series, we will talk about more Purpose. Your life purpose consists of the central motivating aims of your life—the reasons you get up in the morning. Purpose can guide life decisions, influence behavior, shape goals, offer a sense of direction, and create meaning.
HRtalks Wellness: Caregiver Self Care
Get Healthy Now is teaming up with UofL’s Trager Institute to discuss caregiver self-care. Caregiver stress and burnout can impact a caregiver's overall health. Learn tips and strategies on how to care for yourself while also being a caregiver. This workshop is recommended for employees who are caring for or preparing to care for someone who is 60 or older or someone living with dementia or Alzheimer's (of any age).
HRtalks Wellness: Compassionate Caregiving
Get Healthy Now is teaming up with UofL’s Trager Institute to discuss compassionate caregiving. For many caregivers, having compassion for self and for the people they care for is a top priority, but it can also be challenging. Learn ways to nurture a compassionate approach to yourself as a caregiver and the person you are caring for to promote wellness for both. This workshop is recommended for employees who are caring for or preparing to care for someone who is 60 or older or someone living with dementia or Alzheimer's (of any age).

Get Healthy Now is teaming up with UofL Dining Services to discuss what it means to eat healthy. Take a deep dive into general nutrition and learn the Four Key Concepts of Nutrition. During this session you will gain the skills and knowledge to help you make healthy food choices, understand nutrition labels, build a “Smart Plate” and learn what resources are available to you on and off campus.

We will discuss Emotional Intelligence, which is the ability to manage our own emotions and understand the emotions of those around us. We will explore elements of self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills. Get Healthy Now is teaming up with UofL Trager Institute for a Caregiver Grief Workshop led by Barbara Gordon. Caregivers often experience grief both during and after serving in their caregiver role. During this workshop, you will learn how to identify the different kinds of caregiver grief that caregivers may experience and strategies for coping with grief at different stages of the caregiver journey.

Empathy involves sharing the emotional experience of another person and can be a crucial skill in building relationships and fostering effective communication. During this session, we will learn how to strengthen our empathy through mindful practice techniques and reflection.

Employees will learn about intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, and practice tools and strategies to build and boost their own motivation.
Get Healthy Now is teaming up with Nursing Professor, John Mark Hutchenson to discuss methods of meditation, specifically, the Wim Hof breathing method. This method has been shown to help manage depression, anxiety, mood, mental focus, and pain management by developing mastery over the nervous, immune, and cardiovascular systems.
