Transfer/Adult Orientation

A transfer student is a student who has attended an institution of higher learning other than UofL (not including dual credit completed during high school). An adult student is a student who has not previously attended a college or university, and graduated high school more than two years ago.

Becoming a Cardinal is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

(All degree-seeking Transfer and Adult students are required to complete a new student orientation online through Blackboard.)

1) Register for Online Transfer/Adult Student Orientation - $40 fee

After registration and payment are submitted, you should expect the online orientation to be available in Blackboard in the "My Organizations Plus" section the following business day by 5 p.m. EST.

2) Complete Orientation in Blackboard

To successfully complete the orientation requirement, you will review the online presentation in Blackboard and then complete an assessment with a score of 70% or higher.  Your orientation hold will be released one business day after successful completion by 5 p.m. EST.

3) Meet with an Academic Advisor

After registering for orientation, you can contact your academic advising center to schedule an appointment with your academic advisor.  Remember, both orientation and academic advising must be completed before you will be able to register for classes.

Completed your online orientation, but still want more information?  Visit campus at one of our optional Transfer Experience Days for an enhanced orientation experience, where you can tour campus, interact face -to-face with various campus resources and departments, meet with an academic advisor (by appointment) and much more!  RSVP for a Transfer Experience Day and get more information here.

Please Note:  International students (non-immigrants) should not register for Transfer/Adult Orientation.  International students will complete a required International Student Orientation before classes begin.  Information regarding International Student Orientation will be communicated through the University of Louisville's International Center.  Welcome to UofL!
