The best way to experience campus is through a guided campus tour. Our student tour guides are friendly and knowledgeable about campus, and can answer your pressing questions about life as a student at UofL.

#2: Have your picture taken with The Thinker at Grawemeyer Hall.

The Thinker statue that sits in front of Grawemeyer Hall is the first large-scale bronze cast of The Thinker. French sculptor Auguste Rodin personally supervised the casting in Paris. It came out of the mold Dec. 25, 1903, and was completed in early 1904. Many art historians consider The Thinker to be the most famous sculpture in the world.

#3: Find and compare residence halls – your future home!

A campus visit is a perfect time to get a feel for UofL's on-campus housing options. Your Campus Visit includes a stop at Belknap Village North and your student guide can help answer questions about the housing and dining experience.

#4: Count the Cardinal birds.

From our iconic Cardinal bird to the real life northern cardinal, you're sure find these birds throughout our beautiful campus. See why the state bird of Kentucky was chosen as our beloved mascot and learn what it means to become a Cardinal.

#5: Don't step on the Cardinal!

While we're on the subject of the Cardinal bird – don't ever step on it! It's bad luck, no matter who you are. Many a rival have attempted to dishonor our esteemed icon, only to be handed a loss.

#6: Grab a coffee – or lunch – at the Student Activities Center (SAC).

The SAC is the heart of student life on campus. With plenty of dining options, the Campus Store, chair massages, yoga, recreation and more, the SAC is the place to be.

#7: Visit your college or school of interest.

Get a feel for the buildings and facilities where you'll be spending the majority of your time. You can also learn more about a department or program through an in-person visit with a UofL departmental representative. These visits have select meeting times and often fill early.

#8: Check out the library's special collections.

The University of Louisville's Archives and Records Center has many collections that preserve some of the rich history of the city of Louisville and beyond.

#9: Check out the Speed Art Museum.

You don’t have to leave campus to experience great arts and culture. Check out an art exhibition at the Speed Art Museum, located on Belknap Campus and free to UofL students.

#10: Stop by the SRC.

With more that 128,000 square feet, the Student Recreation Center is one of the best student fitness centers in the country. The SRC features six basketball courts, three racquetball courts, an indoor track, an outdoor turf field, group fitness studios, an indoor golf simulator and more.
