Cardinal Family Weekend will be September 23-25, 2022. We are so excited to get our Cardinal families on campus to have a fun weekend in Louisville!
Cardinal Family Weekend is a time for students and family reconnect and explore the UofL and Louisville as a whole. We have an exciting weekend of both paid and free events planned for your family to participate in!
Below is the schedule of official events for Cardinal Family Weekend. Event pricing is à la carte, meaning that families can choose which of the paid events they would like to participate in! We hope that this flexibility will allow families to plan the best weekend possible for them! Each of the paid events will have a link in their description to purchase tickets.

Welcome Reception and Registration, 5-9 p.m. in the Red Barn, Free Event
Welcome to campus Cardinal Families! Stop by the Red Barn to pick up your registration packet, your family’s personalized schedule, and any Family Week T-Shirts you may have ordered. Relax after traveling to campus with music, refreshments, giveaways, and a preview of the evening entertainment!
Cardinal Palooza!, Sponsored by SAB, 3-7 p.m., 2020 Quad (outside of Belknap Academic Building – BAB), Free Event
Welcome to Cardinal Family Weekend! Swing on by, have fun on an inflatable, and grab a snack at this fun family carnival!
Parent of the Year 2022-2023 Award Ceremony, 7 p.m., Kurz Visitors Room, SAC 212, Free Event
Help us honor the individuals that help our students be successful at UofL and beyond! Nominations are now being accepted for the 2022-23 Parent of the Year Award (current UofL students must nominate their family members). This award is open to any parent or caregiver that has made a significant impact and contribution to the life of a UofL Student.
Matt the Knife, Magician and Illusionist, 8 p.m. in Student Activities Center Multipurpose Room (SAC W201), Free Event
Be amazed and mesmerized by Matt the Knife, a nationally traveling illusionist and magician! This event is completely free and will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis. Check out this video for a little preview of the show!

Family Weekend Tailgate, 9 a.m., 2020 Quad (outside of Belknap Academic Building – BAB), Tailgate Tickets Required, Students must have a ticket to attend.
Stop by the tailgate to get fueled up before the big game! Your ticket will include a meal, non-alcoholic beverages, games, music, and spirit items there to help you hype up your Louisville Cardinals! Tickets are required to enjoy the food and drinks. *When purchasing a ticket, please include the names of all attending family members during checkout.
Red Barn Alumni Association Beer Garden 9 a.m., Red Barn, Attendees must have a ticket for the Cardinal Family Weekend Tailgate and be over 21 years old.
Attendees of the Cardinal Family Picnic are welcome to walk over to the storied Red Barn to purchase beer or wine prior to the game. Drinks must be consumed in the Red Barn. ALL attendees must have a Cardinal Family Weekend Tailgate Ticket and be over 21 years old.
University of Louisville Cardinal Football vs. University of South Florida, 12 p.m., Cardinal Stadium, Game Tickets Required
Cheer on the Cards as they play the University of South Florida Bulls! Ticket prices vary depending on the section you choose. Tickets required for entry.

Ville Grill Breakfast, Pay at the door
Swing by the Ville Grille as you leave campus to have breakfast with your student. No tickets are required, however non-meal plan holders will be charged at the door for all you care to eat meal. Students with a meal plan will not need to pay to enter the building.
