All prerequisites must be completed prior to starting the program. A minimum grade of C is required in all prerequisite coursework.  If you have multiple science or math failures, contact the program academic advisor prior to applying for admissions.

Student applications will be considered for admissions into the program while enrolled in prerequisite course work. Students may complete needed prerequisites at UofL or regionally accredited institutions. Students must consult with the program advisor for appropriate equivalencies. Course equivalency will be determined by the School of Nursing. Science courses must have been completed within the last 10 years. Science courses include: Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Pathophysiology and Pharmacology.

To be considered for admission to complete prerequisite course work at the University of Louisville, the following items must be submitted to the Undergraduate Office of Admission:

  • Official transcripts representing all college coursework. Recommend a minimum undergraduate cumulative grade point average of at least 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
  • A bachelor’s degree must be earned from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Completed Undergraduate Admissions Application, including fee.
