Overview
Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
The Division of Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PPM&R) joined the Department of Pediatrics in the Summer of 2022. Through the Norton Children's Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation our board-certified faculty physicians offer inpatient and outpatient physiatry and rehabilitation medicine, along with physical, occupational and speech therapies.
Children may need rehabilitation services for any number of injuries or conditions. Children and adolescents with the following conditions may benefit from meeting with our team:
- Acquired brain injury
- After amputation
- After orthopedic surgery
- Apraxia
- Articulation/speech sound disorders
- Auditory processing disorders
- Autism-related conditions
- Before and after neurological surgery, such as tethered cord and dorsal rhizotomy
- Brachial plexus injury
- Brain tumors
- Burn or scar management
- Cardiopulmonary conditions
- Cancer-related conditions
- Cerebral palsy
- Chronic pain
- Concussion
- Conditions requiring a baclofen pump
- Congenital and genetic syndromes
- Connective tissue disorders
- Developmental delays

- Functional movement disorders
- Gait abnormalities, including idiopathic toe walking
- Heart failure
