About Us
Pediatric Cardiology
The Division of Cardiology has provided comprehensive care to neonates and children of western Kentucky and southern Indiana for more than 50 years.
At our Pediatric Cardiology clinical offices, we offer state-of-the-art cardiovascular services in all areas of pediatric cardiology medicine, full non-invasive services consisting of electrocardiography, stress exercise testing, 24 hour Holter, transtelephonic event monitoring recording, tilt table testing, two-dimensional and color flow echocardiographic-Doppler, and fetal echocardiographic studies. We provide up-to-date diagnostic catheterization studies, electrophysiologic testing, and radio-frequency ablation. Therapeutic catheterization treatment includes balloon valvular angioplasty for obstructive lesions, including pulmonary valve stenosis, aortic valve stenosis, re-coarctation of the aorta, and closure of atrial defects and PDA.
The division has a preventive cardiology clinic, which includes medical care, nutritional counseling and supportive therapy, with respect to the preventive aspects of cardiovascular diseases.
Our faculty are also active in the research arena, conducting clinical research as well as basic science research at the Cardiovascular Innovation Institute.

Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Program
The University of Louisville Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship is a three-year ACGME-accredited program that provides comprehensive clinical and research training in Pediatric Cardiology. Fellows will gradually assume increasing clinical care responsibilities during training. The first year of training is primarily devoted to clinical care. The second and third years are more flexible, with approximately half the time dedicated to academic training, and will be tailored to the trainee’s individual career goals.
