Andrew H. Cline, MPH, LAT

AndrewHCline.jpgAndrew Cline serves as Director of Protective Medicine for the University of Louisville’s School of Medicine in the Department of Emergency Medicine and also serves as Adjunct Faculty for Louisiana State University’s National Center for Biomedical Research and Training.

Before coming to the University, Andrew completed a gubernatorial appointment as Deputy Director of Homeland Security for the Commonwealth of Kentucky managing the Preparedness Division at the Office of Homeland Security where he was responsible for the state’s homeland security training, exercise, national incident management system implementation and citizen corps programs. When first arriving to state government, he worked at the State Department for Public Health as the Strategic National Stockpile/Chempack Coordinator in conjunction with the Center’s for Disease Control and Prevention.

After completing his Masters in Public Health at the University of Kentucky, Andrew started his preparedness career as an epidemiologist and medical preparedness coordinator for Madison County Health Department. While in Madison County, he worked closely with the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP) and Madison County Emergency Management Agency.

Andrew has just completed a two-year term on the State Emergency Response Commission where he was an active member on the Industrial Sara Title III plan review committee and the Hazardous Material's Training committee.

In his spare time, he enjoys raising four children, works as an Athletic Trainer covering sports medicine needs for high school, collegiate and professional athletes, and enjoys a day on the golf course or a day at the lake fishing. Contact Andrew Cline.

 

Jaime L. Shipley, Deputy Director of Operations Jaime L. Shipley, Deputy Director of Operations

Jaime joined the Division of Protective Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Louisville for the position of Deputy Director of Operations in January 2008. Her public service career began over six years ago where she worked for Congressman Ron Lewis. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with a major in Political Science and Sociology.

Jaime's first position in government was in the Governor’s Office as Outreach Preparedness Coordinator with the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security. In this role, she oversaw the Department of Homeland Security’s Citizen Corps Program for the Commonwealth. She has been an active member of numerous state committees and consortiums related to community preparedness, business continuity programs and public health preparedness.

Her professional background includes Congressional Office experience, management in the private sector and research. She is also a native Kentuckian originally from Cave City but currently resides in Louisville. Contact Jaime Shipley.

John H. Clouse, Deputy Director of Research and Development

JohnClousePic.jpgJohn comes to the Division with an extensive background of training and real-world experience in the areas of disaster response and emergency medicine.

He is a seasoned medical educator with more than fifteen years of didactic experience.

He has also served in our nation’s armed forces for twenty-five years and still serves with the Kentucky Army National Guard. Among his tours of duty are Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. In addition, he served on Joint Task Force Katrina in 2005. Contact John Clouse.
